How can I try musical improv?

- Look for a musical improv “jam” — a jam is an event where you can come as a solo performer to join a temporary one-event group. You’ll get to do some practice exercises and/or practice performances together. We have these sometimes after shows, and sometimes as standalone events.
How can I join a team?
Teams are sometimes looking for new members. Here are two ways to find out:
- In-Person. Meet members of an existing team and ask them if their team would consider new members. The best way to meet people is to come to events (shows, workshops, classes).
- Chat. You can also share in the Community Chat that you’re looking for a team to join.

- Your Network. Ask people if they know anyone they would recommend if they would be willing to connect you together.
- Chat. You can also share in the Community Chat that you’re considering forming a team, looking for new members.
Then, practice together for a while (maybe weekly). When you’re ready and comfortable, book your first show!
How can I book a show for my team?
Each event-hosting organization (BIG, Highwire, etc) has their own process for getting teams scheduled. Musical improv is pretty popular – it’s pretty easy to get booked once you’re ready!
